With the illustrations complete, I turned to the book’s design. The typography, inspired by the timeless elegance of Peter Rabbit, gave voice to Emma’s journey. Each page became a dance between text and image, a dialogue that invited readers to explore.

I thought about Helen Oxenbury’s ability to tell a story with simplicity and Cecile’s knack for layering emotions. Their influence was woven into every decision, from the placement of text to the curve of a line.
