Week 3
Dreaming in Lines
4/2/20241 min read

This week, my sketches danced between the real and the imagined. I wanted Emma’s world to feel tangible but enchanted, grounded yet otherworldly. Inspired by Vincent van Gogh’s declaration, “I dream my painting, and I paint my dream,” I let my mind wander into Emma’s story.
I drew forests that whispered secrets and cliffs that seemed to hold their breath. Helen Oxenbury’s restraint reminded me to leave space for wonder, while Van Gogh’s dreamlike intensity taught me to embrace the surreal. The lines on my page began to hum with possibility.
